_notDef is a Rotterdam based design lab where the integration and collaboration of diverse disciplines unify. Through a process based design philosophy, notDef pursues an open-minded school of thought, where content and aesthetics have a rational relation to the narrative that is told. Inspired by critical research, experiments, open discussion, beautiful accidents and practical common sense notDef explores the fields of printed matter, interactive digital media, social networking, philosophy, autonomous- and performance arts. Sibe Kokke;

With a vivid fascination for type and the way typography functions in design, media and theory, Sibe is a devoted and controversial Master of Letters, Numbers, Characters, Ligatures, Leading and Spacing. Through his interest in Analogue technology, errorism and digital systems, Sibe kept his own design studio before pioneering the concept of notDef. With a captivating interest in generative design, he developed skills and techniques as an interactive programmer to aid him in his design philosophy and artistic persona.

Hanco Kamper;

South African born, Hanco Kamper originated from a colorful theater community, where he discovered a passion for language and narrative. Confronted with many social inequities and corrupt governmental systems, Hanco manifested a very critical perspective on social & psychological topics. Fascinated by sound, language, performance-art and design he savours that extensive armory of techniques to convey the message that needs to be told. From sinister sound design and coded language to community projects and general education. His ambitions are to push the envelope in design and narrative by researching and experimenting in the overlapping fields of design, theory and interactive media.
